Why do I need a Property Inspection Report, Immigration accommodation report? We're told this is a question that many of the visa agents we work with are often asked! In general, they respond that when an individual is coming into the UK to live, then if they are from a country outside of the EEC, they have to confirm that they are moving into accommodation that is of a suitable standard, safe from serious health and safety hazards and that will not be made overcrowded by their arrival. Someone who already resides in the UK has to be named as the Sponsor and agree to sponsor the person moving into the area. The Entry Clearance Officer's at the Border Agency a department of the Home Office often ask for proof that the property being moved into, is suitable. The British High Commission requests that a suitably qualified person undertakes this work, at Healthyabode, an independent environmental health consultancy, we specialise in providing Immigration accommodation reports. As such all of our surveyor are environmental health practitioners, environmental health and housing consultants, hold degree's and/or Master's in Environmental Health are certified in the Housing Health & Safety Rating System and are competent to carry out immigration accommodation reports. The United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) state that applications for a visa to the UK (either as a extended visitor or permanant settlement) from outside the EEC contain evidence of the type of housing and its condition for your proposed accommodation. As independant Environmental Health surveyors, Healthyabode can inspect the accommodation and provide an Immigration Accommodation report that will fulfill the UKBA Immigration requirements. What do you look for during the Property inspection report survey? We inspect the sponsor's accommodation and write a report detailing the property layout, size of rooms, number of occupants etc. The accommodation inspection will involve our surveyor assessing that the property: 1) Is free from Category 1 and 2 Hazards under the Housing Act 2004, 2) Is in a reasonable state of repair, 3) Is not statutorily overcrowded under the Housing Act 1985, Part X and shall have sufficient space to accommodate both the current occupiers and the appicant. 4) Is free from conditions that may present a public health nuisance. What information do you need to process the property inspection report? Ideally we need the following information to support the inspection in order to process the Report, but don't worry if you don't have it all, as we can help. 1) Name, Sex, Date of Birth, Passport Number, Current address of the applicant 2) Name and address of the sponsor (if appliable) 3). Copy of a Tenancy Agreement or Proof of Ownership of the property 4) Name and Date of Birth of other occupants in the property to be inspected
